Rhinebeck will feature many types of Racing Motorcycles, from Early Board Track Racers,Flat Trackers, Streamliners, MX and More! Check out the pictures of a few that you will see at the Show.

The first bike in the pictures is a Unique Streamliner powered by a 1947 Indian Motorcycle Engine, this bike will be attemping to set a new speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats this year in August, It cost a Bunch of Cash to go to Bonneville so make sure to stop and check out this Machine, if you think it is really cool buy a T-Shirt or a Poster to help support their attempts at breaking a record this year
This Streamliner is the work of many years by Rocky Dillinger and a dedicated crew, this is a short story from Rocky about building this Awesome Racer
Vist the web site at www.ironwigwam.com

I was always fascinated by Burt Munro's accounts as a child and kept a PIC of him and his Indian in dads garage where I played with my brother, Terry.
In 1988, I lost my father to Hodgkin's disease and saw first hand that life is too short, so when I was diagnosed, in 2001, I made it my resolve to have my name and Indian Motorcycle entered into the Land speed record book of either AMA or BNI. I was always fasicnated by Burt's liner and the later streamliners as they roll out of the record books, Leppan's Triumph, Don Vesco's streamliners , they were fast bikes and took an engineer to build them. So I guess I was influenced by them all along, so in 2002 I became the long process of building a streamliner that was Indian powered, since the engine that finished second at Langhorne in 1946, was on a shelf waiting for a new life.
I remember how my father taught us aerodynamics when we were small we used to be on a long car ride, when my brother and I tried to see how long we could keep a certain potato chip form existing by holding the chip out the window to see who would keep flying the longest. Study the chip and see the air, just close your mind to everything else and see the air move over the chip. Yeah, Dad was fun. Thanks Dad.
A motorcycle streamliner is a strange mix of parts, systems, and motorcycle components. In 2008, according to the AMA rules, a motorcycle streamliner must have two parachutes that can be activated manually and by mercury switches in case of tilting over more than 30 degrees and if the nose or tail gets above a 25 degree pitch, the chutes come open automatically. Then it takes center hub steering with arms and links to steer this cycle from cockpit. Must have bulkheads, fire extinguisher systems and a lot of luck.. I miscalculated how involved and elaborate this project was when I first started and 7 years later, I am thankful that my new crew is helping to get everything done so we can visit the BUB 2008 event being held August 31 to September 7.
It takes a lot of money and time to travel 6000 miles and back to the BUB event If you wish to contribute some money or buy an Indian poster or a Dream Catcher t-shirt, please visit our support store at http://www.ironwigwam.com/
